Every Thursday evening, anyone interested in singing in the choir can attend rehearsals in the church choir room at 7pm. While regular participation is preferred, even the occasional singer is welcome to participate and sing with the Pilgrim Choir on Sunday morning.
The Pilgrim Choir is our adult choir for adults and teens who are in High School or College and beyond. We welcome new members who love to sing and read music or have a working knowledge of music. We sing regularly for the 10:00 a.m. worship service on Sunday mornings with a rehearsal at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays. We take the months of July and August off and begin rehearsals the Thursday after Labor Day. We have a very large music library. We love the classics but also sing new music with challenging rhythms and inspirational messages.
Every year in December we perform a special Vespers Concert. This concert is followed by a Christmas Tea. Throughout the year we hire guest instrumentalists to perform special music with us. This past year we have had trumpets, flute, guitars, bongos and violin.
We own 3 octaves of beautiful English handbells. Our handbell choir is open to all who read music. We rehearse in the Choir Room on Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. two to three times a month, September – June. We perform 5-6 times a year for Sunday morning worship and at the Vespers Concert in December. This talented group is a beautiful part of the music program at First Congregational church.
Welcome, Ramon Cardenas – our new choir director!
